Let's Be Cheesy

Ours is not the usual boy-meets-girl-then-there's-the-spark-and-so-they-fell-in-love-and-lived-happily-ever-after kind of love story. It's more boring, yet a little bit more exciting than that (the irony!).

2007. We were colleagues in a school for special children - she, the teacher , and he, the therapist  - and practically lived in a parallel universe oblivious of each other's presence. We spent more than a year of our lives just passing by each other along the corridor, neither saying hi nor raising an eyebrow (funny how Pinoys do that to mean "oy" ( hey! )). So there, we were basically living our own lives and were merely acquaintances.

Mid-2008. The school held its team building in Tanay, Rizal. We happened to be in the same team and happened to get into small talk because we happened to be experiencing the same agony (na-poo-poops! hahaha!). He happened to be fond of taking pictures, while she happened to be fond of having her pictures taken, so we had a good time and then moved on with our lives the following day. Nothing special. No spark. However, she dreamed of him that night (pemonition ba ito?) but just felt funny the morning after. What could he be thinking?

Dec 2008. The school was holding an inter-department dance contest. We often saw each other during practices, but rarely spoke. Still deadmadela-ing each other.

Christmas Party. The teachers won! So, they decided to go to Enchanted Kingdom the following day. Groom's sister was bride's co-teacher, so when groom's sister's hubby couldn't drive the girls to EK, groom had no choice but to cover for him.

EK. We spent the whole day talking and talking and talking.
Bride's speech bubble: okay naman pala 'to eh.
Groom's speech bubble: pwede, pwede..

So we jived, had an awesome time, exchanged numbers, became friends, dated and dated and dated, 'til we realized we were not friends anymore haha! No formal courtship, no anniversary. Love just happened. Just the way we both wanted it. :-)
